Harness the wiggly energy of your little bunnies with a playful yoga class that celebrates the adorable world of rabbits! This class will transform your mats into meadows, your breaths into burrows, and your bodies into the floppiest, fluffiest rabbits you’ve ever seen. So grab your carrots (or healthy snacks!), put on your comfiest clothes, and get ready to hop, skip, and wiggle your way to bunny bliss!
With a little imagination, you can turn any traditional yoga pose or practice into a bunny-themed one! Here are a few to get you started:
- Sleeping Bunny: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Rest your arms by your sides, close your eyes, and imagine yourself napping in a sunbeam. (Corpse pose/savasana)
- Burrowing Bunny: Start on all fours. Crawl your hands forward and tuck your knees under your belly, creating a cozy bunny burrow. Rest your forehead on the floor (Childs pose)
- Flat Bunny: Lie on your belly with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Open your legs wide like a happy rabbit basking in the sun. Stretch your arms out to the sides and wiggle your fingers like happy toes.(Frog pose)
- Happy Bunny: On your back, bend your knees deeply to the outside of your armpits. Hold your toes or ankles with your fingers. Ankles are stacked over knees (Happy Baby pose)
- Cottontail Up/Down: Start on all fours. Curl your spine up to the ceiling while you look down and point your bunny tail to the ground. Then slowly switch directions, dropping your fluffy belly toward the ground while lifting your little pink nose and puffy tail toward the ceiling. Switch directions with your breath (Cat/Cow pose)
Now put several bunny-inspired poses together for a special Sunrise Bunny Stretch (Sun Salutation)!
- Standing Bunny: Stand tall like a proud mountain, feeling the sun on your fur (or skin!).
- Reach for the Carrot: Raise your arms overhead, reaching for a delicious carrot in the sky. Stretch your whole body up towards the sun.
- Bunny Dip: Bend your knees and dip your chest towards your thighs, like a bunny nibbling on a juicy dandelion. (Forward Fold)
- Hop Back: Hop your feet back into plank pose, keeping your core engaged and your spine straight.
